I just received a replacement starter relay for my Ge side by side. Part number wr09x10107 and it is slightly different than the old one. I'm not sure which wire goes where. One of the connections on the relay has a blue dot next to it . It is the one on the top, not the one on the side. Can you please tell me which goes where ?

It is polarity insensitive. Make sure you plug in the run capacitor in the slots, if you have one.

Thanks for the info. I plugged in the relay and nothing happened for a bit and then I heard a pop. I unplugged the fridge and took the relay out and it is rattling and hot. Has my compressor gone bad? Thanks for any help

Seems like your compressor is shorted, even if you wired it wrong, GE compressors are impedance protected, sorry.

Do a quick continuity check with an ohms meter, if you get an infinite reading between any of the compressor points or if you get a reading between any of those points and the base of the compressor its defiantly fried.

Thanks,
Joe
