GE Front Load Washer Not Agitating or Spinning

GE Adora Front load washer will not agitate or spin.

Here is what I have done so far:


  • cleaned out the drain filter behind the lower service panel
  • did not solve problem
  • made sure drain was not clogged
  • did not solve problem
  • Entered Service mode and ran test T02
  • Received two error codes: E54 AND E70
  • I tried to reset the inverter in T01 but not sure which number is for my model.
Can someone diagnose these two error codes for me and provide a next step process.

the e54 error code refers to the motor being bad. run tests 10, 11, and 14 of the test mode to see if the motor is working in diagnostics. the e70 error refers to the keypad being faulty, which is strange. usually when a washer won't agitate OR spin, the lid switch is the culprit, but i would check out your motor and inverter bcuz of the error codes you got. I'm just a junior appliance tech, so i will leave more detailed explanations to the senior guys. but i hope i answered your question about the error codes :)
