This seems to happen several times during the day. First the ignitor glows, and then the burner turns on briefly with no human input. It goes out (again, on its own) after about 30 seconds.
I've tried jiggling the oven switch, with no effect.

I thought it cured itself, but this morning the oven burner came on by itself again, stayed lit for about 15 seconds, and then went out. All the time the oven switch was in the "off" position.
The propane smell lingers for a few minutes afterward.
Anyone have this happen to them?

Once again, it seemed to cure itself, but it started briefly coming on again...usually in the mornings.
With the assumption that the electrical glow for starting the oven is what opens the propane valve, I'm wondering if I could keep this from happening by turning off the electrical circuit to the stove when not in use.
Any thoughts?

I wound up replacing the thermostat, which has fixed the problem.
This thermostat was "...on national vendor back order". So it wound up taking nearly two months before it arrived.
In the meantime, to temporarily tame the beast, I put a switch in-line with the gas range's electrical connection and kept it switched off when the spark for the burners or the glow for the oven weren't needed. This worked great, with no unexpected oven ignitions.
The new thermostat install was straight-forward, but I'm glad detailed instructions with photos were included with the kit.
