my electric dryer is getting really hot, it doesnt cool even on the cool cycle. we replaced the cycling thermostat and checked conductivity. There is no broken.... unsure of what to try next. Suggestions???

Did you check the heating coil?
Remove both wires from the heater. Measure across the heater, should be 8 to 12 ohms. Now measure from each side of the heater to the case/frame both should be infinite ohms. Be sure to measure to bare metal. If not infinite ohms then the heater is grounded and the cycling thermostat cannot control it. Replace the heater. |
