I just had a Bosch dishwasher put in the other day and I'm smelling smoke/plastic/electric smell coming from it toward the end of the cycle. I've only run it twice. I'm worried b/c the reason I had to get a new washer is b /c my old Frigidaire Professional series started doing the same thing. However, that washer had an exposed coil that looked like it has been bent down too close to the inside if the washer and burnt the plastic... so I got the new Bosch. Several months prior we had an electrical strike to the house which caused a coffee pot to catch fire and initially caused a glitch in the LED panel on the Frigidaire, but after that it seemed to function well for months. Now I'm wondering if it is something with our wiring that has caused BOTH dishwashers to smoke/smell like smoke. We had the house checked out by electricians, but they didn't seem to do much. Not sure how to go about this. Probably need to get the electrician and dishwasher repair person to come back out?

I just got the same dishwasher as you have and it has the same smell from day one. I have used my dishwasher about 10 times now and it produces the same smell near the end of the cycle. Sometimes it gives me a headache. It may be the material the seals are made out of. Have you figured out how to fix it?

No I haven't. The smell has lessened but is still there. At first I could smell it on the dishes themselves but now not so much. I suspect it is off-gassing from some of the materials. I don't open the door until the washer has cooled down and that helps to not breathe in the fumes. I will let you know if I find something that helps.
