Hello. I have been having problems with my electric dryer not producing any heat (the other functions all seem fine). In troubleshooting this a couple of months ago I could not find any errors, so I am just getting back to it now that it's getting colder outside. Tonight I found the following:
cycling thermostat - the smaller terminals (purple wires) read 7.5 on a 20K ohm scale cycling thermostat - the larger terminals (red wires) read 0.05 on a 200 ohm scale thermal cutout - 0.05 on a 200 ohm scale thermal fuse - 0.05 on a 200 ohm scale high limit thermostat - 0.05 on a 200 ohm scale heating elements - 10.5 on a 200 ohm scale
wiring1- 118 on a 750 ACV scale wiring2 - 18 on a 750 ACV scale wiring (across both) - 89 on a 750 ACV scale
so it looks like 1 of the breakers is bad. Do the rest of the readings make sense or does anyone see anything else that looks wrong here? I mostly ask because I remember testing all of this last summer and the outlet was 118/118, but as one of the troubleshooting steps I did turn the breaker off overnight and then turn it back on so possibly it "reset" itself?

I cannot find any info on the given model number. Kenmore numbers are usually 34 digits, a period and then an additional 8 digits. The first 3 digits tell you who actually made the unit.
Your resistance readings look OK to me.
It does look like bad power. Could be the breaker, a bad wire or the connections at either end of the wiring. |
