Maytag side by side wont make ice and the water only comes out for 1 second with no pressure and then stops. The pressure of the water coming out went from fast to very slow about 3 weeks ago to nothing. I hear what sounds like the pump make a noise when I press the water button. About 2 years ago the water filter became so dirty that the it would no longer dispense water. It was under warranty and the guy told me I could remove the filter and it would fix the problem. So I have the bypass plug in the filter.

I removed the water line from the wall to the fridge, plenty of pressure. I next removed the two water lines that go into and out of where the filter is connected, I was able to blow air through both of them. Next I removed the line going up the back to where the ice maker is. I could not blow anything into that hose and it goes into the back of the unit and I cant tell what it is hooked up to. My gut feeling is that I have sediment built up somewere because of the similar symptoms when the filter was clogged, and the ice maker gradually stopped working. The cubes became more and more hallow each week.

Any advise is greatly appreciated, especially if I can avoid a service call.
