The timer runs, but the water won't fill and the dishwasher won't run. Both door switches work properly, and I just installed a brand new timer. The float switch works properly, but there is no power at the inlet valve.

What else can be the cause? The door switches work, the timer works, the float switch works...

Many thanks in advance.

Here are your parts
Parts for Jenn-Air JDB6510AWP Dishwasher - AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

Did this unit ever run OK for you or is it new to you?

Why did you replace the timer?
Were the symptoms the same as now?

I found happiness today...

I opened the door up again to do some continuity testing, but this time I inspected the wire harness that runs from the timer and switches down to the bottom of the door. It runs behind some insulation and plastic clips, so some of the wiring is hidden from view.

There it was...the white wire that runs to the inlet valve was completely severed. I replaced the wire (and one more with the insulation cracked), put it back together, and the machine started right up.

After three weeks of washing dishes with a family of seven, that sound has never sounded sweeter...

Thanks to denman for the testing sheet yesterday.

You are welcome.

And thanks for getting back to us. Now when others search for a similar problem they will see what actually worked instead of just suggestions about what could be the cause.
