Greetings,
I've been troubleshooting my Bosch SHU5315 dishwasher using the Bosch self test program. I've proceeded through the "Heating & Circulating" test and it's been running in that test for 45 minutes leading me to believe, per instructions, that I've either got a Heater, Hi-Limit, or Flow switch problem. Instructions say "measure current in main power line to dishwasher". Correct amperage is 11. But, how do you do this exactly? I do have a digital multimeter and have used it before in many automotive projects. Would appreciate some instructions on where you take this measurement and how?

You would need a clamp on style ammeter to measure the current draw, clamped on to the main wire supplying voltage to the unit. The most common issue to cause no heat is a poor solder connection on the heater relay on the board. It is easy enough to access and visibly inspect the solder side of the control. The picture below shows what you will likely find. Let me know what inspection turns up! Appliance Ninja attached the following image(s):

Ninja,
I've checked the board and it's clean, no discernible problems there. So, on to the current check. You suggest, "a clamp on style ammeter to measure the current draw, clamped on to the main wire supplying voltage to the unit".
Where is the main wire supplying current located? Just behind and right of the kick plate where it connects to the wire leading to the household breaker panel? If so, which wire to probe for current?
BTW, I have a probe type meter, not a clamp on style.

You will need a clamp on style to measure the AC current. Usually the line voltage supply is black.

Yes, the power connections are behind the metal cover on the RH side, behind the lower access panel. You will need a clamp on style to measure the AC current. Usually the line voltage supply is black.
