My oven will light and heat up but will loose 50 to 100 degrees before trying to relight and sometimes it will not without restarting the oven. Sometimes it will stop during the heat up. I can watch the bake igniter spark and will glow red then the flame will go out. Do I need to replace the spark igniter or module.

Thank you,
Norm

I would start by cleaning the igniter tip well with sandpaper, as well at the area of the burner it sparks to. The moisture in the flame conducts between those parts and that path must be very clean to work as designed. Let me know what happens after that.

I cleaned the igniter and the burner. The spark looks very good and the igniter glows but the flame is very erratic it goes from full burner to about 2 inches and then went out.

That is very odd. Does the broil flame stay lit full time?

The broil flame works great. while watching it I changed the temp. from 350 to 400 and it lights and then goes back out after about 2 seconds then tries again about 2 minutes later but keeps going out

When it goes out, does it slowly die or shut off all at once?

It seems to go out slowly bouncing around a little and then out.

If you have a meter to test voltage, remove the lower drawer to access the gas valve. On that valve you will see three wires. The bottom two wires are the ones to the back coil. Attach your meter leads to the bottom two wires while still connected to the valve. Set your meter to read DC voltage, at least 20 volts. Then, turn the oven on and watch that voltage. Does it remain at 8-18 VDC, or drop as the flame goes out?
