I've been having a noise/squeaking issue with my washer for a little over 2 months now. I'm hoping to finally be able to fix this issue as the washer has gotten louder lately and I can hear/feel it vibrating throughout the house during the last minute or so of the spin cycle. Here is a link to the sound I am hearing. The washer model number is WHRE5550K2WW.

That is actually a pretty common issue for these machines and one that a kit has been designed for. The kit comes with installation instructions and is available below.

It looks like that kit does not cover my exact model washer. Would I just purchase this part?

I see the WHRE5550K1WW is on that list, but not the 2 series, my apologies. Can you remove the front of the machine and inspect that metal apron by the motor and see if that is what is squeaking?

I just got around to taking the front off of the machine and it does appear that the motor is scraping the bottom of the washing machine.

Remove the front panel by inserting putty knife into the front top groove in line with the lid opening on each end to release the clips, tilt panel outward and lift from machine. Observe under motor during operation to see if the motor shaft or main drive pulley is hitting the bottom of the washer.

This is what I see hitting and anytime it passes over the grove it makes the squeaking noise. Hopefully the picture I have attached works. http://postimg.org/image/sclwlhnhz/

I'm still hearing this issue. Did my picture help at all?

Did you find a solution? I have the same model with the same problem - as shown in your photo.

I had the same problem and could clearly see the marks on the bottom of the washer where it was scrapping. So far so good, I found two rubber stoppers with a hole in the middle and a slice in them. I cut them in half so I had four identical stoppers. Then I placed the four halves at the top where the metal bars go that hold the washing bin up.
