We have a full size Frigidaire refrigerator with a full size freezer combo. The seam on the back wall down toward the bottom has opened on each unit. Has anyone ever seen anything like this. Cold air on each side is obviously escaping. Any input would be great. Thank you.

Actually, the insulation is blown in and fills all the voids and crevices. It is not likely that you are losing any cold air, but the cracks can be unsightly. There is a repair kit out that is designed for this problem. It is available below. You can also try a white silicone type caulking but may want to use a food grade type. The crack goes clear across the seam. It has opened at least an inch wide. Has even developed a rust spot and cracking of the inside paint several inches above the crack in frig part. Any causes for this to happen? It seems like it would be a defect of some sort. Appliances are 6 years old.

Wow, that is larger than most I have seen! Can you post a picture of it? The cracking is usually due to expansion of the foam insulation but usually results in hairline cracks, not large ones like you apparently have.
