The LP flame on the bake burner tube was sooting up the inside of the
tube. Not bad but the flames seem to have more than normal yellow.
On the tube is an air adjustment. Should I allow more air or lessen the
opening to reduce the yellow flame? Will wait on an opinion before
continuing. I cleaned up the tube of soot before I will put back.

Adjusting the air shutter will not likely remedy the issue you are having. There is an adjustable orifice at the bottom of the burner tube. Screw it clockwise until the desired flame is achieved. As you screw it down, the orifice size is decreased.
