Thank you, that makes diagnosis pretty easy. The control board will need to be replaced and is available below. It is located on the back of the refrigerator cabinet and is accessed by removing the rectangular cover. The board is not really difficult to replace, all connectors unplug and plug in and it comes with instructions. Thanks Ninja for your help!! I was hoping it was not that, since we're contemplating whether to just get a new refrigerator. I don't mind trying it out my only concern is, it doesn't work even after replacing it ... is there an option to send it back and get a refund.

Hi Ninja, I had unplugged the unit for a couple of hours and turned it back on and it has been running fine since last Thu. Freezer side cooling ok and fan is not running constantly. Any thoughts or advice ... if I still need to go ahead and change the control board .. or should I just watch and see. Thanks.

The power cycle (unplugging for a couple hours) likely reset the control. I would watch it and if it gives you more trouble, replace that board. Electronics can be very touchy like that, glad it is working now, though!

Sometimes a leak in the pipe of compressor is the reason of that. Did its taking complete voltage so then check the door it may be opened all night. It generally shows a problem related to compressor.New french door refrigerators are energy effecient and high in quality.

A refrigerant leak will not reset with a power cycle, it is not related to a sealed system issue. If it acts up again, the control board will likely need to be replaced.
