I have a ge washer model wjrr4170e4ww. When I attempt to wash a large load there is some type of bracket thing on the bottom of motor(?) rubbing the bottom of the metal casing. Any ideas on what maybe causing this? I've read different things, some suggest an apron others suggest suspension rods. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're adding too much clothes these units are a cheap model and don't like very large loads or you have a suspension rod off or that's bad. Replace all the rods if you replace them don't just replace one unless you see if physically broken.

When I first got the washer it was brand new and had no problem washing really large loads...so I don't think adding too much clothes is the real issue. Obviously it is a temporary fix...wash smaller loads=no noise. I guess I will try the rods and see what happens.

Contact GE with your complaints maybe they can remedy your problem if it's a newer unit.
