I have a 5 year old Maytag Atlantis. The heating element stays on constantly if the motor is running no matter what setting the dryer is set to. So far, I have changed out the cyclic thermostat and timer. The problem still persists. I checked the temperature control switch that cycles between air fluff, delicate, medium and regular settings and all contacts and resistor look to be in great shape. I have no idea where to go from here. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The first thing I would do is remove the wires from the heating element terminals and check for continuity between the each terminal to ground.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for MAYTAG MDE7460AYQ | AppliancePartsPros.com
