This washer may be more than 10yrs. The problem has gradually worsened. The timer goes through the cycle but buzzes the whole time. The lid switch is fine. The washer fills on all cycles but does not agitate until it gets to the "light" wash cycle. It finishes that and just stops, no draining, no spin, no rinse but the timer moves on. At first, several months ago I lost the spin on colors. Last week the only spin I could get was on delicates. Now, nothing. The belt moves ok and all pulleys move freely. I've read alot of posts asking about similar problems but not sounding just like this. I think it may be the transmission or the timer. Any ideas to help me out? Thanks so much.

Even though no one responded to my original post I decided to replace the timer since I could return it if it did not fix the problem. I spent several hours reading posts and searching websites for help before trying this site so I'm a bit disappointed that I got no response. Anyway, replacing the timer fixed all the problems and I've done about 7 loads of wash successfully without intervention from me so I'm also happy. Thanks to APP for their return policy!

Thanks for sharing your problem and fix. Good job on getting that done yourself. Sorry nobody responded. We are strictly volunteer techs here that check in periodically and try to help people out when we can. This is not a regularly staffed repair forum, most other appliance repair forums aren't either but there are some that are that require registration and payment for their services. Hope you get many more years out of that washer.
