The washer washes and drains, but won't spin. Seems to be trying to spin. When I take the clothes out, the spin cycle works fine.

It is possible the clutch is the problem, but it is an expensive part

Part number: AP2045377
Part number: AP2045377

but given the cost I would replace the belt first and see if that fixes it.

Part number: AP2044592
Part number: AP2044592

If the belt does not do the job think about whether or not you want to spend the money on a part which is not guaranteed to fix it or use the funds towards a new machine.
