The light blinks as if it was low on power and the freezer & frig temperature numbers do not light up. If I take the light out, there is no noise and the temperature numbers light up.

Could be that the voltage spikes caused the the bulb is driving the units computer crazy. If t6he above does nothing then odds are that the main control board is toast.
