I woke up to a water filled dishwasher. The fan blades on the motor are hitting the housing. I can see wear marks on the motor housing. I can make it run but the blades are definitely hitting the housing. I guess it's time for a new DW...Thanks for your input. -mj

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool KUDS40FVWH3 Dishwasher - AppliancePartsPros.comYes it does sound like you need a new motor. I would check to be sure that the motor hanger rod is OK and not hanging loose. If you are happy with this units performance and it is in good shape then you may want to consider replacing the pump and motor assembly. At about $140.00 it is priced reasonably. It can usually be replaced without even having to pull the dishwasher. If you decide to do this be sure to add a couple quarts of water before using it. Running this pump when dry will burn up the pump seals. |
