Our ice maker is making a grinding sound, but it's not like the motor is grinding. It's more of an intermittent grinding sound that now won't stop. Water still comes through the dispenser in the door, but I haven't heard it fill into the ice maker lately. To be honest, we've never changed the water filter and don't even know where to locate it. Would also like the part number for the replacement filter. Thanks.

The only part which could make a grinding noise is the ice maker motor gears. Looks like the ice maker has to be replaced.

Your fridge does not have a built in water filter. Check behind the refrigerator for an in line filter. If there is one - it has to be replaced.

If there is no water filter and you would like to install one, let me know and I will supply you with the part number.

- The part number for the ice maker is AP178365

Here are the break down diagrams for the Maytag refrigerator Model PSD2350DRW
