Our GE dishwasher no longer drains completely. I followed a few of the threads on this site, but I wasn't able to remove the filter sump and cover assembly - GE WD22X10077 Filter Sump and Cover Assembly - AppliancePartsPros.comSomeone said it was difficult to remove and they weren't kidding. I removed the fine filter and only found a few small items in there. I used a shop vac to suck up almost all of the water from the sump and reached down into the sump filter but wasn't able to reach into the hole on the side of it. We ran the dishwasher on a rinse cycle and it fills up okay but I think when it's supposed to be draining, nothing happens. If you put your hand on the door, you can feel a slight vibration, as if something is running, but it doesn't seem to be draining. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

disconnect the wires to the sump or drain pump if it's separate and hook up an extension cord straight to the drain pump and put your hand on it and you should be able to feel it work............if it hums and sounds like its working disconnect the power and physically look at the props inside the motor make sure they aren't broken off.
