I need to replace the infinite switch for one of the elements on my stove. When I looked at the back of the stove, it looks like I need to remove the entire back panel to do this. This looks like a lot of work. Is this the only way to get at the infinite switch on this model?

The schematic isn't coming up on your unit because the model number is incomplete or not right........Turn off the power before doing anything........if it's all one solid panel then yes you have to but if it's 2 pieces just take off the top part............Pull one wire at a time and look at the markings on the switch and make sure you put the right ones in the right places..............

Thanks for the reply, HumboldtRepairMan. The model number is correct, but maybe the schematic isn't coming up because it's a Canadian model ( ftp://ftp.electrolux-na.com/Se...aire%20PL/CFEF357BC2.pdf) . However, it is very similar to CFEF357EB1. Removal of the back panel looks like a lot of work, since it goes from top to bottom and includes removal of a cover on top of the panel, and unscrewing from the rails for the bottom drawer, too, but it sounds like I have no other choice here. I really wish they'd designed this model with a two-piece panel so I could easily access the top part. :(
