So for about 3 years the under microwave lights shined just fine down onto our range top. Then both bulbs burnt out. When I tried to replace them I damaged the bulb holders as both bulbs had somewhat fused to the sockets.

I managed to replace both bulbs and they shone brighter than I remembered. Now they burn out about every couple months. I am concerned they are getting too much 'juice' and the plastic sleeves that cover the connection between the wire harness and the bulb holders are brown to black in color and stiff not flexible.

So do I just replace the damaged bulb holders with new ones or do I replace them along with the wire harness or is the problem beyond this?

Help!
