Kenmore HE5 screeching sound...belt replacement/idler pulley or both?

Hi-
Last week, our front load gas dryer started making a pretty loud screeching noise. Dryer heats up nicely and no error codes showing up on-screen  We unplugged, opened up both front and back thinking maybe something got stuck inside and what we did discover was a bunch of lint, sand, a few coins and a candy wrapper. Once we vacuumed it all out and put it back together, it started up and worked like a charm - screech free for a miserable 4days. Now the screeching has come back again not any better or worse than it did initially. After researching what we could, it is our guess that it possibly needs belt and or idler pulley replacement?? If this is the case, I am having trouble finding where exactly I can can find the replacement parts because I don't have part #'s. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thank you in advance, JC

Here are your parts Parts for Kenmore Dryer 11097087601 - AppliancePartsPros.comAlso you can go to the Sears parts site. They have actual part breakdown drawings. Unfortunately they do not share these with other part vendors. Your screech could be a number of things. Unless the belt is cracked it should be OK. Could be the idler check that it spins freely and that ii's bearing is not worn. Could also be one of the drum support wheels. Could be the motor bearings. Check the drum seals. Check that there is nothing in the blower assembly. |
