Hi, My top oven is not working, i've test it on BROIL without luck. I removed the back cover and test it using a voltmeter, i hear a click, then i see the Ohm go around 20-30 for a few sec then 0.000 and another "click". The bottom oven is working, but it is hard to cook, it take longer than usual. Also, check this picture, the top connector seem fried ? : http://i.imgur.com/5IBh740.jpgthanks!

OK so it is just the broil element that does not come on, correct?
So i can just change that for a new one? you sure that is the problem? Unplug the stove and one side of the element. Then measure it with a meter should be around 15 ohms. If it is infinite ohms then it needs replacing. What do you think of the connector on my picture? Cannot really tell what is going on here though there does not appear to be any damage (overheating) of the wires. You will have to remove the tape and check the connection. Note that the tape is not normal and has been installed by someone but I do not know why.
There are other things that can cause the broil element to not come on but the most common is a blown element. |
