I have to push and hold the start button for my dryer to run. If I hold the button down the dryer will run and heat normally...but I can't stand next to my machine and hold the button for hours to dry my clothes.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool LER4634EQ2 Dryer - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for your tech sheet. You will notice that there is a centrifugal switch (5M ) on the motor. It is wired in parallel with the start switch. It closes when the motor gets close to operating speed. It ensures that the heater does not come on before there is air flow but also keeps the motor running after you release the start switch. Perhaps it is shot. I would check that the wires/connections are OK. You need to replace the motor in order to replace the switch as it is not available as a separate part. |
