LG Dishwasher works fine and drains great; however, with water intake there is a relatively loud straining/groaning sound as if pumping is under stress. Starts and stops regularly every couple of seconds. A lot of cavitation sound. Pumping seems to start up, groans while moving some water, then starts again. Eventually enough water to wash. Any thoughts. Appears pump and motor may be different. Could the valve be a problem?

First off you have no codes or blinking lights popping up and not allowing you to use the unit?
LG's have problems with there water intakes getting clogged in fact some i believe have recalls.....Call LG about it before you spend your money you'll need to give them your model and serial number. Pull the unit out of the cabinet and inspect the 2 plastic housings on the left side of the unit see if you have any clogging in those area's. Pull your supply hose off that feeds the unit and clean that screen on your water inlet valve and make sure you have at least 20psi (you should be able to fill a 1 gallon jug in 1 minute if you can't your water supply is too low and you having a plumbing issue. Check out the diagram i have below for parts to identify. If the noise happens after the unit fills up and the water is splashing around you have a sump issue and need to clean and examine complete sump and drain pump area's. Here's a video to help you and a diagram of parts

Excellent suggestions and thanks so much. No codes or blinking lights so I'll go thru all the items and report back if that doesn't work. Again thanks!
