My electric dryer does not heat properly when its against the wall. pulled it out, and tested all thermostats(seemed fine). cleaned out exhaust duct( it was plugged) I put it back in place and would not heat. element heats about 30 seconds and kicks off. It takes quite a while before element comes back on then kicks out about 30 seconds. I pulled it away from wall turned it on and it works fine, ran thru a full cycle. Duct work from wall to outside is about 10", its clean. Any ideas. Thanks

It's a ducting issue if you pulled it away from the wall and it worked fine.............Check the operating thermostat or thermister whichever it has that regulates heat being produced. Here's a video

Check that the louvers on the outside duct open fully when the dryer is running.

I would do this using an air only cycle.

Check that the blower wheel is clean and that it solidly attached to the motor shaft.
Sometimes they can strip out. Then it may run OK with no back pressure but slips on the shaft when attached to the ducting.
