Lower fridge not cooling. I turn the "defrost timer" and it shut it down & the defrost heater does come on but does not "defrost" and lower fridge does not cool at all.

Here are your parts
Parts for Kenmore Refrigerator 25371822102 - AppliancePartsPros.com

If you go to the Sears parts site they have part breakdown diagrams.
They will not share these with other parts vendors but if you get the part number from them you can find it at AppliancePartsPros.
They also show a wiring diagram but it seems there is a problem. The diagram shows a condenser/compressor fan but the parts breakdowns do not.

Sorry but I do not understand the above.

Lower fridge not cooling.[/COLOR]
What is the freezer temperature. It should be between 0 and 5 degrees F.
Is the compressor cycling or is it on all the time?
Is the evaporator/freezer fan running.

Need more info here.
If the defrost heater comes on then it has to defrost st least some of the ice/frost off of the evaporator coils.
Note: that if you have the cover off then it may not do a great job. The cover holds the heat in the evaporator coil area .

What do the evaporator coils look like before you do a defrost.
For it to be a defrost problem they have to be iced/frosted over to the point that the evaporator fan cannot pull air through them.

Coils look fine (no frost) but pathway to refrigerator frozen solid. It appears heater is defrosting the coils but the not the pathway to fridge. I've defrosted the pathway and it appears to be cooling the fridge but I believe I just bought some time before the pathway freezes up again. Can it be the thermostat?? Heater?
