We have had progressing issues with our oven... It all started with temperature issues...the oven was about 75-100 degrees off from the set temperature. We have dealt with this issue by simply using an oven thermometer in the mean time and despite some random temperature swinging often happening during use...we have managed none the less. Slowly but surely our oven problems grew to different buttons stopping working. For example...certain oven features like 'convect bake', etc, the buttons stopped responding when pressed...this issue slowly grew to more and more buttons not responding. The last straw was the other night after we baked a pizza...the next morning the oven door was locked even though no one locked it...and the necessary buttons to unlock it are not usable! So now we had no choice but to deal with our oven problem once and for all. So after some research we ordered a new control panel...we installed it and now less buttons work than before...the company we ordered from said we may have received a bad part, but honestly, we really need some direction here before we move forward...we would really appreciate a response...thank you so much! First off the temperature issue is usually the temp probe and sometimes but rarely the main control board. Don't be surprised if the unit is off some units are 50+ degrees off brand new some units that's perfectly normal and i wouldn't rely on cheap thermometers from china you buy at the stores. Also look at your manual it'll show you if your unit has an adjusting setting to adjust + or - 30 degrees manually through the touchpad. On your jenair type units you sometimes have to replace both the touchpad and the main control board behind it which comes to about $800 sometimes they work in a pair where the keypad is worn but yet part of the main board can be burned out where the keypad attaches to it.........your better off replacing your unit because you may also have a harness issue if those parts don't fix it and that will be additional money also. You said you replaced the main control are you talking about number 3 on this parts list below or did you replace the touch pad? You probably didn't get the right part you should of possibly ordered the touch pad first but that's nearly 600......anyways i'd recommend getting another unit but if you want to spend 800+ to get it fixed and that doesn't include a new temperature probe with the possibility of spending more for other problems it's your choice. Thank you for your response! We actually ohm tested our temperature probe and there are no issues with it. To explain in a little more detail: our temperature issues can vary from over 100 degrees off to sometimes worse and varying while the oven is baking, etc.- in other words...it is not a consistent 50 degrees or something like that...I basically have to set the oven at 425 to get 350, most times. And that does not always hold...the oven temperature will rise and fall throughout the baking time, making it so that you have to continuously check the thermometer I put in the oven to monitor the temperature...or else... To answer your other question, we replaced the main control board...and you have now confirmed what we were wondering ourselves, the the touchpad may also need to be replaced... Thank you for your time...we really appreciate it...if you have any other thoughts please let us know :)
