We have a haier refrigerator not side by side. We noticed last night our ice trays wouldn't freeze and checked temp it was fine. When got in fridge this morn everything in fridge barely cold but light is working? Also, freezer still seem cold even though nothing froze. We bought brand new around 8 years ago. Have checked plug and its fine but not sure what to do from here? I just bought groceries yest so in panick mode right now!!!

If the temperature was fine then the ice trays should have frozen.
What was the freezer temperature?
It should be between 0 and 5 degrees F.

Is the compressor running? You can usually hear it but also should be able to feel it vibrating.
If it is running is it on all the time or is it cycling?
If cycling, how often?
Is the condenser/compressor fan running? If it has one. On most units when this fan runs the compressor should be on.
Is the evaporator/freezer fan running?

If the compressor is on all the time, remove the cover inside the freezer so that you can inspect the evaporator coils.

If heavily iced/frosted over then you have a defrost problem.

If there is only frost in one area (usually where the freon enters the coils) then it is probably a sealed system problem.
