The latch on my Maytag dishwasher broke. I bought and replaced that assembly, but the plastic inside the control panel where the latch screws fit was bad and after a few weeks I had to order a new control panel for mechanical reasons only.

Here's where it gets weird. My wife ran the dishwasher twice and the 3rd time she tried to use it, it wouldn't start. Not all of the buttons lit anymore. I killed power to the dishwasher at the fuse box, let it sit 5 minutes, still wouldn't start. I tried contacting the seller of the control panel for help but eventually called a repair guy. He said the panel was bad within 10 seconds and didn't charge me for the visit (awesome! Customer for life).

Long story short, I bought another control panel from this site and that one did the same thing. Ran two cycles, now won't start again. Since the original panel worked ok (a couple of the buttons on that one stopped working too, but it was otherwise OK). What's my next step here?

Checking your complete wire harness and connections for scorch marks or bad/loose connections........Also ohm test your sump and drain pump..........ohm test your heating element as well and check that circuitry also. Good luck
