We just bought a new house and a new dryer ( LG DLE2250W ). We used the dryer several times before there was a fire due the previous owners of the house having not cleaned the vent in a while, if ever. Now the dyer does not heat.
I checked the thermal fuse, high limit thermostat, and heating element with a multimeter on the 20 ohm setting and got the following results:
thermal fuse and high limit thermostat: 0.3
heating element: 40
I'm no electrical engineer, but I think this means that all three parts are OK. So, assuming that I did check the three parts correctly and they are all OK, what else could be wrong?

With fire damage it could be anything check the tech sheet if you have one and LG's aren't the greatest of appliance makers i personally would never own one. Thermal fuse should read infinite........the heating element should be 10-50 ohms. Do you have 240v going to the heating element? You have 3 or more thermostats to check and a thermister also.......Follow the wiring from your element and check everything that is in that circuitry....... Thanks for the reply.
For what it's worth, there are no obvious signs of fire damage which leads me to believe something tripped. I'll try and follow the wiring back further and see what I can find.
