I started noticing that the ice in my freezer was becoming like a block of ice at the bottom of the tray. The I opened it up one day and notice it was a tray of water and the freezer was warm. The fridge was warm too. Then the next day both the freezer and fridge got cold again and the ice melted. It has been going back and forth a few times a week like this for about a month now. I had the circuit board in the back replaced about a year ago but I checked it and it seems okay. Can someone help me please? I dread calling the technician again because they charge so much just for the consultation. Thank you so much in advance!!!

Next time it fails, check the compressor in the back. If not vibrating, you probably have bad solder connections in the back of the motherboard in the back.

I'm not sure where the compressor is, but when I listen to the back of the fridge there is certainly something humming back there. And when I put my hand on the metal plate on the lower back of the fridge I can feel something vibrating slightly. Would that be the compressor? If it is, and it is vibrating, do you have any other words of wisdoms?

You need to pull the back panel off to get to the compressor, a black, round item.
