Hey all,
The other day we were having a party and the wife decides to put plug a fryer and a griddle into the same outlet as the refrigerator... long story short, i was not home and the breaker kicked a good 3-4 times until she figured out she could run everything at once. Excellent.

Well today i come home and the fridge is 60F as is the freezer. Everything is melted and shot. Excellent again.

Anyway i did some reading on here and pulled the Relay and Overload and checked the compressor leads...

Relay: not only does it rattle but little pieces fall out of it. So obviously that's shot.

Overload: looks fine, is there a way to check it?

Compressor: Between each leads ready about 6ohm... leads to copper tubing, no continuity. So it should be good, yes?

So, should I just buy the Relay for $60 or do I also have to get the Overload for another $50?

Thanks all!

Come to think of it... over the past year or so the wife was saying that items there were in the fridge were freezing in the back sometimes... so i dropped the dial down and everythings been fine since. Wonder if that was a sign the relay may have been going out? And this on/off with the breaker just killed it?
