My Whirlpool side by side's ice maker has stopped making ice. I noted many posts on the Internet about the same issue...so this is obviously a typical problem with these ice makers! I then did a search on Amazon.com for a reasonably priced replacement ice maker...which was part #2198597 from a different parts vendor...sorry. I installed the ice maker this past Thursday, but still NO ice...in fact...I don't think the harvest fingers have even moved. Any ideas?

Has anyone not resolved an issue like this?

Pull the optics board on the right side of the freezer and place a temporary wire jumper between the black and black/white wires going to the connector. If icemaker now works, you probably have bad optics boards.
