I have a Kenmore upright freezer that I *think* may have been affected by a recent power issue in our home where we were running under-voltage on that circuit. Light works inside just fine and temp control lights up and adjusts for for all intents and purposes, it's working. Not cooling though so I thought it may have a damaged compressor motor. A friend told me there's a $20 relay on the side of the compressor that may be the only thing wrong. Anyone else have thoughts on this who may be familiar with Kenmore freezers?

Check the compressor, if hot, but not vibrating, you probably have a bad start device on the side of the compressor.
