I recently moved and am not sure how to use the self cleaning mode on this oven. I set the dial to clean and lock the door. The clean light goes on but not the lock and it is not cleaning. Any ideas ??? I do not have the owners manual

You have to set the cleaning time on the clock too.
There are two small dials on the clock, one says "start" and another one says "stop".
The arrow on the "start" dial should show the same time which is shown on the clock.
Push and turn the knob on the "stop" dial to move the arrow for about three hours ahead of the clock time.
If the clock is broken, the self clean would not work.
Unfortunately the new clock is no longer available.

did that but lock light still not on and cleaning not started. do i need to set the thermostat knob to a certain temp

If the thermostat has the "clean" mark - it has to be turned on.
If it does not have a such mark - keep it "off".

I recently moved and have my first self-cleaning oven, naturally, without an instruction manual. When the clean cycle shuts down, and the door unlocks, (hate to sound totally stupid) but what do I do next? Do I spray anything on it, do I just wipe the inside, or should I have sprayed before setting the timer on cleaner? Help!

Previously sent, but I must have slipped up somewhere. New (to me) self-cleaning in apartment. How to use, spray something? Just wipe? (shortened version)

You do not have to use any chemicals with a self clean oven. Wipe out any excessive grease before you run self clean and wipe out any ashes after. Remove all wire racks to prevent their discoloration.

Gene. Please help -- I have this same problem, and knew the clock was broken but didn't realize that would be a problem. I set clean cycle and it ran all night. Both lights (clean and lock) still on this morning, so I switched control knob to off, out of fear of fire hazard, and not knowing what else to do. Of course, it is still locked. Will it eventually cool and unlock, or do I have a huge problem? Thanks! Dara

In order to provide most accurate advise we need the complete model number of the oven. Front view pictures might help too.

Thanks, but hubby already took it apart and removed lock. We had tried unplugging for a bit, but no luck. Stove is a million years old, and we thought we were getting a newer used one from friends, but it was busted, too, with no part available anymore. Trying to get by with "old faithful" til we can remodel in a year or two. At least I have the oven now for holidays!
