This dryer has ran beautifully up until last week. All of a sudden, it started to take an extremely long time to dry. I then cleaned out the solid vent and purchased a shorter flex vent for inside the house.
It worked well for about a day. Then it stopped heating all together. I replaced the heating element, which did not help. Then I replaced the thermal fuse, high limit thermostat, thermal cut out, and the high limit fuse. Now it does not want to shut off. It shuts off when the door is opened or when the breaker is flipped manually. It also does not want to start in "No Heat" mode. I checked all the connections between the replaced parts to make sure nothing is grounding out or that a part was incorrectly installed.
I really think my timer is now shot. Even if it is the timer, is it possible that a larger issue (home wiring, bad breaker switch?) is causing issues throughout the dryer. I don't recall having a power surge recently, although the electric company in this area did do some recent line work nearby recently.

Just updating this a bit:
I went ahead and returned all the original part, one by one, with the exception of the thermal fuse. It still has the same problem (not shutting off) and heat is still good right now.

Does it shut off in timed dry? Does the timer advance in timed dry? Does the timer advance in auto mode? If the timer is turned to off does the dryer stop? Does it start? |

Timed Dry Low Heat: Advances normally. It didn't reach the "Off" position, but stopped in the "Cool Down." Timed Dry High Heat: Dryer will not start. In Auto-Sense Heat Dry, it advances to the "Cool Down" stage and stays there, never reaching the "Off" position. When the timer is manually turned to "Off" while running, it does not turn off. It does not start from the off position.
