The dryer started by humming when I pushed the start button, then it would click and do nothing. I found that it could be a blocked blower fan so I opened it up and vacuumed out the inside. That Fixed it so I put the door and front back on. Finished drying that load and went to put the next load in and when I pushed the button nothing happened. Let it cool then it runs a full cycle again. And then the same thing happens. Was told by my local parts place that I needed a new motor, but wouldn't it not run at all if the motor was bad? Not sure if it is the motor itself or some sort of sensor.

Was told by my local parts place that I needed a new motor, but wouldn't it not run at all if the motor was bad? No. It will also not run if the motor overheats. The motor has an internal thermal protect. If the motor overheats the protect opens and then you have to wait till the motor cools down so the protect will reset. Did you also check/clean your vent system? There are several reasons why a motor will overheat. 1. a bad motor 2. too much drag on the motor. Try turning the drum in the correct direction by hand. It should turn fairly easily. 3. dirty motor. Could be that the motor is clogged solid with lint. 4. heat blow back. Some units have a sal between the motor and the blower. If that seal is bad then hot air escapes from the blower and heats up the motor. Odds are that it is a bad motor but it is worth checking the other things.
