I have a problem with my fridge not cooling.
I have an Amana ARB2205CC. It is 10 years old, but I have not used it in 5 years.
My wife plugged it in a few days ago. The light turned on and the compressor turned on.
We down a few days later to put food in it and it was off. The GFCI outlet had tripped.
I reset the outlet and the light in the fridge turned on but the compressor would not come on. I let it sit for a few hours but the fridge and freezer are still warm.
I'm not sure while part to troubleshoot or where to start.

Here are your parts
Parts for Amana ARB2205CC - AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

Are the evaporator/freezer and the condenser/compressor fans running?

If not then odds are that you either have a main control thermostat or a defrost timer problem.

Rotate the temperature thermostat back and forth a bit. If it fires up replace the thermostat.

If this does nothing rotate the defrost timer cam (item 12 in section 03 of the parts) with a screwdriver. There is usually a hole in the covers to let you do this without taking things apart. It only rotates in one direction. If the compressor fires up replace the timer.

It is usually not recommended to run a fridge on a GFCI. They are just too sensitive. The unit is safe as long as it is plugged into a properly grounded receptacle.

My had wife set the freezer to off which also shut off the fridge. After turned the thermostat from the Off position the compressor started and everything began to cool.

Sounds like a bad main thermostat, at least that is what I would replace.
