Hello - I have a Maytag MSD2556AEW Side by Side Refrigerator that had been showing the "Freezer is cold / gridge is warm" problem for the last 3-4 months. A full defrost fixes it for 2-3 weeks and then the problem is back. After reading this forum, I am certain that the problem is with the Adaptive Control Board and I was about to order a replacement. Before doing so, I decided to take apart the plastic casing near the top of the fridge and make sure I can access/remove the ADC board. I was able to access the ADC board and started putting everything back together when I noticed a that a green wire with yellow stripe is hanging and I have no idea where it goes. The interesting thing is that both the freezer and fridge sections appear to be cooling fine for now. I am sure the green/yellow wire has a function. Can someone please tell me where it goes? Please see the attached pictures that shows this wire. The fridge is currently running - should I turn it off? Thanks in advance for your help. fgb59h attached the following image(s):

Hello - In the first photo, the green/yellow wire is on the right of the picture, in front of the Adaptive Control Board. I do not know how to edit a post so I am sending a reply.
Thanks.

Sorry for posting again. The refrigerator has been running for the last 4 hours. Both the gaskets and the metal frame between the freezer and fridge are hot. On the other hand, the fridge became extremely cold, almost 0 deg C (I think the fridge section use to cool down to 5 deg C). I am not sure what's going on - maybe the thermostat isn't working and the fridge just keeps getting cooler and cooler. I unplugged the refrigerator for now and will check again tomorrow.
