Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 5/26/2013(UTC) Posts: 1		Have a brand new Whirlpool freezer on the top fridge that has been in use about a week. I notice that much/most of the time the compressor does not immediately start when the cooling kicks in. The fan comes on and the compressor hums for 5-10 seconds, then shuts off. A minute or two later, the compressor will successfully start. Otherwise, it functions normally (i.e. cools, etc.) Is this normal? Is it time to go back and purchase the extended warranty?
