I need to replace on of the lid hinges, but the bottom piece is screwed into the metal top. How do I remove the top to get at the screws?

If you look at this diagram of your model

04-Top parts for Admiral LATA400AAW - AppliancePartsPros.com

you will see that there are clips that hold the front to the top. Insert a screw driver to release the top and it should swing upward. If there are screws at the bottom of the front panel, take these out and the front panel will swing outward.
