MODEL NUMBER: MDB7609AWS
The only lights that do not work on the panel are start, cancel, and high temp. The start and cancel buttons are not responsive. I checked power going up to the board and it is getting power. I'm thinking it is the control panel. I did some research and others seem to have the same problem, and it turned out to be the control panel. Is there a way to know for sure? Can you provide a link to a tech sheet and the part?
Thanks

Hello,
Most likely the problem is a bad control panel but there is a small chance for the control board to be bad as well.
You can verify it by doing the following test:
1. Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power. 2. Open the dishwasher door. 3. Open console and disconnect the keypad ribbon connection from the control (at P1). Make sure all other connections are made. 4. Put console back together. Do not close the dishwasher door. 5. Plug in dishwasher or reconnect power. 6. Wait 5 sec. 7. Close dishwasher door. 8. Monitor the control’s response:
If the control is OK (no longer sees shorts with the keypad unplugged), it will respond by turning on the Drain Motor for 2 minutes. Replace the keypad (control panel) if the control responds OK.
If the control is not OK (still sees shorts with the keypad unplugged), then the drain motor will NOT turn on. If the drain motor does not start within 10 sec, replace the control board.
If you need the correct part numbers, post the end of the model number and the color of the control panel.
Gene.

Thanks Q: Did the control panel fix the Maytag MDB7609AWS dishwasher? Is it still working 3yrs later? PS: Did you see any sign of water damage when replacing the control panel? .
