My washer stopped mid-cycle, beeped and would not open. My son went over and after a couple yanks opened the door, breaking the end of the Door Strike, mounted on the door. I ordered a new one, thinking this was the problem, as the door could no longer shut. I installed the new Door Strike, but it still did nothing. I looked into the Door Switch Assembly, and it seems the latch inside is jammed or something, and is not allowing the Door Strike to enter and lock the door. I've tried resetting the washer by unplugging it, no luck. I took out the Door Switch Assembly and played with it... still nothing. Before I buy a new Door Switch Assembly, ($70.00) I want to make sure I can't fix it first. Can anyone help me to understand how to repair this problem? Thank you so much for any help.

This is difficult to diagnose without being there to see the washer, but I would go ahead and replace the assembly.
If you buy from this site and the part does not fix the problem you can return it.
