The breaker for our washer tripped one day in rainy weather, at the same time we discovered the dryer stopped working. The dryer's breaker was not tripped. It won't start, we have power to the plug. We thought the start button felt different when pushed and thought that was our problem because we can hear the timer ticking. So we ordered the part from you and it didn't fix the problem. Now wondering if it might be the thermal fuse?

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool KEYS750GQ0 Dryer - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the wiring diagram. Yes it could be the thermal fuse (item 6 in the Bulkhead Parts section) Unplug the unit and check the fuse with a meter should be 0 ohms. Jiggery Pokery method is. Unplug the unit. Remove both wires from the fuse, short them together and tape them up so they will not short to the frame. Plug the unit in and give it a try. If blown, replace the fuse ASAP as it is a critical safety device re: prevents lint fires which can turn into house fires. Also clean/check your vent system and the blower as these are the most common causes of it blowing. |
