I just moved and I think it may be part of the issue. The dryer was fine before we moved. But I have an Amana electric dryer that I set the timed dry for an hour and it will stop after 40 mins. Then about 15 mins later it will start back up on its own. It does the same on all settings. I took the back off and cleaned out all the lint, I vacuumed the lint trap and I even ran it without the exhaust hose hooked up to the outside vent. The door is not loose, but the light bulb is now not working. The repair guys want 75$ just to come to my house. so if I can repair this ting on my own I would like to try that first.

A model number may help others help you. Find your model number - AppliancePartsPros.comIf you try to start it right after it shuts down what happens? Does the heat setting actually change the heat output or do you always get heat even in air only? With the timer at a mid cycle of a heat cycle but the motor not started does the heat coil come on? Do this check quickly as running the heater with no air flow can blow a thermal fuse. |
