What could cause the dryer to work ,but the timer knob doesn't move and no heat. please help:confused:

What cycle did you use - "auto" or "timed" when the timer did not advise?

I tried all cycles,where ever I set the dial .it stays in the same spot , till I turn the knob to off , or open the door. drum turns but no heat, what could cause this?
